Andrea M. Dobson, C.P.A. Chief Operating & Financial Officer
Andrea Dobson is the chief operating & financial officer of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. She is regionally known for her leadership in financial, human resource, and information systems management. Andrea’s career path began with Polysar Limited, a multinational synthetic rubber producer located in Sarnia, Ontario, and wound its way through two public accounting firms in Maryland followed by the Farm Credit Bank of Baltimore and Central Maryland Farm Credit Agricultural Credit Association. Andrea’s financial expertise was instrumental in ensuring the financial stability of the cooperatively owned lending organization, the premier source of dependable credit to farmers and agricultural industries in the mid-Atlantic region. Her last activity at Central Maryland Farm Credit was developing and managing the foundation’s strategic plan for merging with four similar organizations to form a $1 billion rural lending cooperative, Mid Atlantic Farm Credit.
Andrea’s work at Central Maryland Farm Credit led to her invitation to join the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation in August 2000. The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of all Arkansans in three interrelated areas of education, economic development, and racial and social justice. Recognizing the broadness of that mandate, WRF focuses its work on the people and communities with the least wealth and opportunity, using its resources to understand the problems contributing to poverty in Arkansas and developing a long-term action plan to address the underlying issues.
Andrea is a Certified Public Accountant with a bachelor of business administration from the University of Michigan. She is committed to addressing the issues related to poverty, racial and social justice, education, and community development, particularly through sound fiscal policies and transparency. In addition to her work at WRF, Andrea currently serves on the Pulaski County Single Parent Scholarship Fund Board and the International Funders for Indigenous Peoples Finance Committee. She is also active with the Arkansas Compensation Association, the Central Arkansas Human Resource Association, Bible Study Fellowship, and her local church.
Andrea’s work in communications has received several Wilmer Rich Shields awards for excellence.
