Paid Accounting Internship

The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation is a private charitable foundation that has been working for more than 40 years to reduce poverty and increase prosperity for all Arkansans through grantmaking and strategic partnerships. We pursue this goal by focusing on three inter‐related areas: education; economic development; and economic, racial, and social justice.

The foundation seeks a part‐time accounting intern to ensure that the accounting department has a skilled, responsible, and motivated individual to assist with day‐to‐day accounting activity. The Intern must have a basic knowledge of accounting principles and terms to effectively produce journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with other administrative activities as assigned.

Position Details
The Intern will report to the Grants and Operations Manager and support other staff as needed. The office is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The Accounting Intern will work between 15 and 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule to accommodate college courses. The position pays $12.50 per hour.

Primary duties include:

  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Prepare documents for auditors
  • Work with grants management and accounting software
  • Assist with events planning
  • Take on additional tasks or projects to support the Foundation and build professional
    skills


Position Requirements:

  • Must be working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting
  • Must be efficient, detail‐oriented, organized, and responsible
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Must be motivated to achieve new challenges and seek professional growth
