David J. Lewis
Equity Officer (as of Oct. 2019)

David is committed to developing systems for individuals and organizations that support meaningful and intentional change, capacity building, and effective assessment to improve outcomes. David has managed strategic change within organizations and communities throughout his professional career. At the Foundation David oversees leadership development and movement building strategies to pursue economic, educational, social, ethnic, and racial equity for all Arkansans.
Prior to joining the Foundation, David was an internal management consultant for the State of Louisiana’s Department of Transportation and Development, Quality and Continuous Improvement Program, where he improved the Department’s operations and outcomes through active research and policy analysis. As a consulting partner, David has also worked with Beloved Community, a nonprofit equity firm based in New Orleans, to advance equity in schools, at home, and at work. David earned his Master of Education degree in adult and higher education administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and he is a graduate of the Prosci© Change Management Practitioner Institute. .
A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, David enjoys reading, meditation activities, and spending time with family and friends.
