Murray Britton

Operations Associate

(pronouns: he/him/his)

Murray believes we have a moral imperative to redress the systemic barriers historically entombed in our institutions; barriers that continue to breed inequity and make the lives of the disenfranchised difficult. As an operations associate he ensures the relentless pursuit of equity is effective, efficient, and sustainable for the Foundation and its team members.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Murray built food safety and production systems as a seafood plant manager in New Orleans; and supported Arkansas farmers through aggregation, distribution, and sales at New South Produce Cooperative. Previous to that he lived overseas teaching English in after school programs, and tutoring faculty and staff from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea.

After earning his BS in Philosophy from the University of Central Arkansas his heart for non-profit work was instilled and cultivated while serving as a market gardener, livestock caretaker, and educational facilitator for the Arkansas non-profit Heifer International.

His evenings are filled with books, painting, or piano playing. While his weekends are spent hiking, gardening, or kayaking down one of Arkansas many beautiful rivers.
