For more than a decade, WRF has used research, grantmaking, and other philanthropic tools to support immigrant integration in Arkansas. This support is rooted in our mission to improve the lives of all Arkansans.The recent decision to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program threatens the opportunity for many young Arkansans to pursue a better future through education and puts them in danger of being deported from the only home many of them have known.
Over two years, WRF has leveraged funding from the Delivering on the Dream (DOTD) initiative led by Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR) to support seven Arkansas nonprofits who have served nearly 40,000 individuals, provided over 1,400 residents with legal support, and helped nearly double DACA applications in Arkansas from 4,500 to 8,200.
