Marvell-Elaine Reads is moving the needle on third grade reading by offering a literacy-based summer day camp and mobilizing community volunteers to provide reading tutoring during the school year. Marvell-Elaine Reads is a partnership between the Boys, Girls, Adults, Community Development Center (BGACDC), the Marvell-Elaine Elementary School, and parent and community volunteers. The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation is pleased to announce its investment in Marvell-Elaine Reads as part of the AR-GLR Community Solutions Initiative.The AR-GLR Community Solutions Initiative supports parents, schools, and communities working together to achieve the Campaign's goal that by 2020, all Arkansas children will read at grade-level by the end of third grade.
