Excel by Eight
Educational Equity

Educational and health equity are the priorities of Excel by Eight (E8), a campaign to build a reliable resource grid to ensure all Arkansas families and communities have what they need to help children thrive.
With E8, we are committed to increasing children’s health and education outcomes in Arkansas by:
Building models for change in communities around the state
Identifying policy barriers that make it difficult for communities to build and strengthen their grids of resources
Enhancing public understanding of early childhood development to encourage action to build strong resource grids statewide

E8 is a team of policymakers, healthcare professionals, educators, nonprofit leaders, and community organizers.
Since 2011, E8 has been known as the Arkansas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (AR-GLR). With the support of more than 30 partner organizations, AR-GLR proudly received national recognition for its progress to improve parent and community engagement, school readiness, classroom instruction, attendance, and summer learning.
AR-GLR recognized a need for more progress, deeper conversations, and greater action; therefore E8 launched in 2020, committed to educational equity and increasing children’s health and education outcomes.
