In 2016, we visited 17 communities across Arkansas to answer one incredibly important question: "We Expect More of ourselves, our communities, and our state's future...so what are we going to do about it?"
A year after launching Expect More Arkansas, we're sharing how communities, organizations, and businesses across Arkansas expect more of our state's future and how they are taking action to ensure every resident has access to a high-skilled job that pays a family-supporting wage.
Arkansas can Expect More when businesses invest in our state’s workforce pipeline. For-profit organizations must also form partnerships with educational institutions and nonprofit organizations to equip students with the skills employers need them to have.
Almost Qualified is preparing students to secure and succeed in high-skilled careers in Little Rock. Dassault Falcon Jet (DSJ) is investing in the community’s workforce through a partnership with Pulaski Technical College (PTC) and Goodwill of Arkansas. Together, these organizations are providing training and certification that may result in students' employment at DSJ. Goodwill provides students additional coaching to ensure they're prepared for jobs that provide family-supporting wages.
